Peeps Pops


To all my cake-pops-loving “peeps” out there, allow me introduce you to my Easter bunny version — Peeps Pops!

I don’t know about you, but as soon as spring rolls around, Peeps seem to mysteriously show up in nearly every aisle in the grocery store. So this week I finally gave in and bought a few of the famous colorful boxes — but of course, decided to gussy them up a bit.

My lollipop sticks have been calling my name lately. So I turned the Peeps into “pops”, melted a batch of white and dark chocolate, pulled out some of my sprinkles collection (this is a perfect way to use them up!) and went to dipping! I also ground up some graham crackers to make a Peeps version of my favorite s’mores pops. Sure enough, these were totally simple (and took about 10% of the time it takes to make cake pops!!). Perfect for making with kids, or for letting the “kid” come out in your friends and family as they enjoy these!

Yield: 16-20 peeps pops

Peeps Pops


Your favorite Easter candy…dipped in chocolate and sprinkles! You’ll love this Peeps Pops recipe. Fun ideas for variations included!

Ingredients:

melted chocolate (dark, white, etc.)
assorted sprinkles or crushed graham crackers
lollipop sticks
wax paper or parchment paper

Directions:

Prepare the “pops” by first inserting a lollipop stick into each bunny. (I poked mine nearly through, so that they wouldn’t fall off during dunking!) Then, while holding the stick, carefully dip a Peep into the chocolate until thoroughly coated, then remove from chocolate and cover with desired sprinkles. Then place the pop on wax paper and leave until the chocolate is cooled and firm. Enjoy!

  • You could do the same with the Christmas tree Peeps, the Ghost Peeps or any of the others they now sell almost all year round. What a good idea. Always looking for easy “treats” to make with my nieces and this will be a hit I’m sure.

  • Soooo not easy.  They look bad.    Only thing i can say is they taste good but had to stick em in the freezer to harden. … the wax paper and counter waiting thing wasn’t good enough.
